Some new additions to the computer collection this month. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Sun SparcStation 20 on eBay along with a 17″ Sun/Nokia monitor and this week I received a Digital VaxStation 3100/m30 plus VT320 terminal. I’ve got the SS20 running Debian Woody and I’ll be putting NetBSD/VAX onto the VS3100 as soon as I get the cable to connect the VT320 to it.
Last weekend the other 256Mb stick of DDR RAM in my main Athlon box went bad. I’ve not really had much luck with this machine when you add it all up: one dead mobo, two dead sticks of RAM and a dead DVD drive. Even though these things run ridiculously hot, it doesn’t appear to be an overheating issue after all, so it’s either just bad luck or cheap parts that’s to blame. The DVD drive in particular was very cheap and nasty.
Oh, and the new Banco de Gaia double cd “10 Years” was released on the 16th, there are several mp3′s available here! Strangely, one of them (B2) isn’t on the album! Do yourself a favour and listen to some Banco now!
